Why so many different types of moisturizers? It's because the characteristics of your skin vary quite a bit from area to area. The most effective moisturizer for dry hands, for instance, will be a lot heavier than what most of us would want on our face.

Facial Moisturizers
These are the lightest preparations, designed to moisturize without making your face feel oily.

Body Moisturizers
A thicker, creamier grade of moisturizer for areas other than the face.

Hand Moisturizers
The thickest of all, to penetrate and repair rough, dry skin on the hands.

Lip Moisturizers
Because chapped lips are easily irritated, lip moisturizers are made without the alcohol that's often used as a solvent in other moisturizing products.
